The Deer Ridge Cabin
Elevation 8,853 Feet
One of our most peaceful and secluded homes is the delightful Deer Ridge Cabin. Nestled in the forest this home has views of Columbine Lake through the trees and is located just 1 mile from Purgatory/Durango Mountain Resort. This cabin is stocked with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, washer and dryer, gas grill, and cable tv, making it the perfect home away from home. In winter you can cozy up to a fire in the wood stove and gaze through the large front window at the falling snow. On the main entrance floor you will find the living room with Queen sofa sleeper, kitchen and dining area, plus a full bath. The upstairs lofted bedroom features a Queen bed plus a Full and a Twin Foldaway, and there is also a TV.
This home is dog friendly. Approved Dogs are allowed with a non-refundable fee per pet based on size/type. Please let us know about your pet(s) when inquiring or making your reservation.
4 wheel drive with snow tires or chains is required in winter - No Exceptions.

It is located at a perfect spot, great for visiting surrounding areas and close enough to visit local Durango. It has a beautiful natural scenery perfect for relaxation. Our dogs had an amazing experience, being so close to nature. We look forward to having another opportunity in the future to stay here once again(:

The scenery around the cabin was beautiful. We were a little worried about not having air conditioning in July, but it was not a problem at all. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and our vacation in Colorado. The cabin was in a great location to explore both Durango and the Silverton area. We also really enjoyed going to the Nugget Bar across the road, good food and nice people.

This was a lovely get away cabin in the woods. Very close to the lake so bring mosquito spray!! Very well stocked kitchen and gorgeous views. The stars at night were spectacular. You’ll get your steps in since master bedroom is upstairs and only bathroom is downstairs. Great location! An enjoyable stay!

We went skiing everyday in purgatory and with the mountain right down the street, we had first tracks every day. Kevin was an excellent manager, stopped by to check on us and dropped off supplies for using the stove. He also recommended an amazing Mexican restaurant. Couldn't imagine having better service.

We had a wonderful week away in the mountains! It was great to unwind, watch the wildlife and enjoy the area. We had fun watching a doe and her twin fawns right behind the cabin a couple of days. What a beautiful area!!

Beautiful area and very cozy cabin! Queen bed is comfortable, a twin would be a great addition since the cot springs sag, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the area! Perfect location to travel to other areas outside of Durango

This cabin was EXACTLY what our family needed to get a much needed break from the norm! My kids had a blast and we all had quality time together and just slow down. Thank you so much for letting us be your guests!
